CAICC Community Update: Events, Recaps, and Opportunities

Are You Looking for a Job? This Room Was Built for You.

If you have been sending out applications and hearing nothing back, or going to interviews that lead nowhere, or just feeling like the right opportunity keeps slipping past you, we want you in a room on August 21.

The CAICC Career & Networking Expo is happening at the Community College of Aurora, Rotunda Café, and it was built specifically for this moment in your job search. This is not a job board or another online application. It is a room with real hiring managers and recruiters who cleared their calendars to be there because they are actively looking for their next hire. That person could be you.

In one afternoon, you could have a face-to-face conversation with a decision-maker, get your resume in the right hands, and walk out with a follow-up already scheduled. That is something that can take months of networking to pull off on your own. Here, it is one Thursday evening.

Come as you are. Come ready. And if you know someone who has been in their job search longer than they planned, please share this with them. This is exactly the kind of event that changes things.

A Summer to Remember: Young Tech 2026 Has Wrapped

Last week, students in the Young Tech summer camp stood in front of a room full of families, educators, and community partners. They presented projects they built themselves across Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Coding, Game Development, and Cybersecurity. Watching that happen and knowing where they started six weeks ago was something special.

The summer was full in every sense. Students visited CSU Spur and took in a Colorado Rockies game. They celebrated Cultural Day together as well; families brought dishes from home, students came dressed in cultural attire, performed drama pieces, and shared an afternoon that reminded everyone in the room that knowing where you come from is just as important as where you are going.

And then came Demo Day. The projects were impressive. The pride in that room was real.

We are deeply proud of every student who started and finished strong. To the parents and families who supported them every step of the way, thank you. If you have a child you think would thrive in a program like this, keep CAICC on your radar. We cannot wait to do this again.

10 Years of Cultural Impact: The 10th Annual Colorado Dashiki Festival

Ten years is not just a number. It is ten years of music filling a park, ten years of African cuisine, fashion, dance, and community, all in one place, all in one day. The Colorado Dashiki Festival has become something people plan their summer around, and this year, the 10th edition, is the biggest one yet.

On August 29, we are coming to City of Centennial Park in Centennial, Colorado, with over 6,000 people expected through the gates. There will be live music, cultural dance, a fashion show, a vendor market, and food from across the African continent. Whether you have been coming since the very first edition or this is the year you finally make it out, this is the one to be at.

Ten years of cultural impact. Come celebrate with us.

Walk Runway: Dashiki Fashion Show

The fashion show is one of the most anticipated moments of the entire day, and this year there are prizes on the line. If you have ever wanted to showcase African fashion on a stage in front of thousands of people, this is your moment. Spots are limited, so do not sit on this one.

Become a Festival Vendor

Over 6,000 people are expected at this year's festival, and they come ready to discover, shop, and support. If you have a product or service to share, such as fashion, beauty, art, crafts, books, family goods, a booth at the Dashiki Festival puts you in front of one of the most engaged community crowds in Colorado. Vendor registration is open now.

With appreciation,

The CAICC Team
