Building Wellness through Resilience, One Youth at a Time

The Youth Wellness and Resilience (YWR) Program is a culturally responsive initiative by the Colorado African Innovation & Cultural Center (CAICC). Designed for African American, African immigrant, and refugee youth ages 8–26, this program tackles mental health challenges, trauma, and substance misuse by meeting youth where they are—with care that reflects their lived experiences.

At CAICC, we believe it takes a village to heal and grow. That’s why the YWR Program offers therapeutic support, psychoeducation, and community engagement—all rooted in culture, compassion, and connection.

The program reduces stigma, improves access to care, and strengthens family well-being

Before joining the Young Tech Program, I didn’t know much about coding. Now I can actually build simple apps and websites! It makes me feel like I can be anything I want in tech when I grow up

The program made learning about technology fun and exciting. I met new friends, learned teamwork, and now I want to be a software engineer one day
